Job Details Marketing: defining, marketing and protecting the Standard Bank brand across our business - including specialist advice and activity for specific countries and business units. Job Purpose Deliver conceptual thinking with well-written and well-edited conceptual content, information and messaging to drive positive engagement at all levels. Assess creative development opportunities and engage with all stakeholders in the value chain to create out-of-the-box solutions to bring messaging to life across different formats. Research and report back to Studio on latest messaging trends. Create standard processes and templates to guide a templated messaging approach to content management. Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities Client: Deliver creative thinking, expressed through conceptual copywriting within the end-to-end collaborative design process from ideation through to execution in order to deliver exceptional creative outputs that deliver on business objectives and drive distinctive and personalised client experiences. Independently create and write creative content for various platforms, e.g. print, audio-visual (video/audio content), podcasts, html, activations, etc marketing and communication campaigns that deliver on business objectives and drive distinctive and personalised client experiences. Develop and maintain Tone of Voice Guide(s) for group, business lines and corporate functions and proactively recommend messaging solutions for written content within the Studio. Provide advice and shape ideas as a subject matter expert in the field of conceptual opywriting by staying abreast with communication trends and proactively embedding them to the creative process. Integrate conceptual copywriting trends and client insights into solutions that have impact at the speed of culture. Challenge current thinking and shape ideas of business in order to integrate messaging trends and best practice into creative solutions. Engage collaboratively with Business, Marketing & Communication Managers and Studio esources in the development of creative messaging solutions across various media platforms that enhance our creative solutions, exceeds customer expectations, enhance the Standard Bank image and reputation and creates business value. Deliver high-level editing to supplied written content in order to drive distinctive and personalised client experiences. Deliver on multiple, simultaneous conceptual copywriting projects, always focusing on eaching business objectives and driving distinctive and personalised client experiences. Time management, where required, teaming up with various designers on various projects concurrently. Participate in the development of internal and external messaging which reflects the needs of varied stakeholders across all Business Lines and Corporate Functions. Participate in the review of new communication technologies and keep the business at the forefront of developments in creative copywriting. Guide appropriate channel selection for messaging. The communication channels include but are not exclusive to the following; Intranet, Internet, Mass email, Newsletters, Printed media, Video, Podcasts, Social media. Ensure the effective implementation and timely execution of briefs for conceptual copywriting and high-level editing projects across all channels in order to drive distinctive and personalised client experiences. Oversee and guide partners writing (e.g. digital teams). Provide expert conceptual copywriting advice to internal business partners. Engage internal business partners as part of the research process or information gathering. Proofread or edit documents as required. Interact with people and teams at all levels within the Bank to provide advice on communication channels and promote responsible and efficient use of media. Manage writing standards for South Africas internal and external media channels by ensuring the following; appropriate style and tone of communication, grammatical quality, alignment to brand and strategy. Keep abreast of communication and media trends. Participate in the development, implementation and monitoring systems and procedures necessary to deliver appropriate, relevant messaging. Develop a deep understanding of the strategic objectives of the business portfolio in order to partner with business stakeholders and challenge their Marketing and Communication needs to ensure impact and realisation of the business strategic aspirations/objectives. Guide and advise creative team, business partners and account management about the creative copywriting process in order to foster stronger working relationships and produce exceptional creative solutions. Deliver creative solutions and projects on-time and within budget to deliver on business objectives and drive distinctive client experiences. People: Coordinate relationships with other stakeholder groups and associates who influence internal and external marketing and communications implementations. Provides for in-service conceptual copywriting training and development. rovides proactive guidance to stakeholders on conceptual copywriting related matters. Build and maintain effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders in order to establish rapport and trust to be able to challenge and shape messaging options that build and enhance the image and brand and realise the strategic objectives of the Bank around client centricity through personalisation. Risk, Regulatory, Prudential & Compliance Manage risk timeously and report incidents. Complete mandatory compliance training. Responsible for observing all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations in all content production, i.e. copyright and plagiarism and laws. Strategy Apply insights to develop strong conceptual copywriting messaging. Deliver strategic Marketing and Communication solutions to Business Lines and Corporate Functions in order to build the brand image of the Bank, which in turn drives commercial value. Develop a detailed understanding and interpretation of the strategies and challenges of a relevant portfolio of Business lines and/or Corporate Functions in order to effectively partner with stakeholders. Develop and implement new ideas and methods and continue to seek ways of both improving contribution to the Banks strategic objectives and goals and enhancing the reputation of Standard Bank. Preferred Qualification and Experience Relevant Degree Other Minimum Qualifications, certifications or professional memberships: A degree in Communication would be a minimum requirement for this role. A creative copywriting qualification is important. 5-7 years experience: Creative Copywriting experience within an agency or Marketing & Communication environment would be a critical requirement for this role.
